Banner of Church Life 2

Welcome

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh

It is with great sadness that we learned on Friday 9th April of the death of HRH Prince Philip.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Queen and their family at this sad time.

Here is a prayer that you may like to use:

O God, our sovereign and shepherd,
who brought again your Son, Jesus Christ,
from the valley of death,
comfort, we pray,
The Queen and all the Royal Family
with your protecting presence.
Fill them with your Holy Spirit;
and with your heavenly peace;
and bring them at the last
to your everlasting kingdom;
through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

We would have had a book of condolence at the Church available for people to sign, but sadly due to the current Covid regulations this is not deemed safe.
Instead there is now an online book of condolence on the Church of England website

 www.churchofengland.org/

May the Lord bless those who grieve with his comfort and peace.

If you plan to attend a service at the church, please carefully read - and remember - these details:

Following government and Church of England guidelines these procedures will be in place for the safety of all:
  • It is essential for you to ring or email Revds Tim & Trish ffrench in advance if you are planning to come to a service – limited numbers can be admitted to church.  (01892 723055 or revsffrench@gmail.com)
  • You are advised not to lift-share with people outside your social bubble, particularly those who are vulnerable.
  • You must wear a face mask unless exempt.
  • Please maintain Social Distancing of 2m at all times, in the car park, on the way in, throughout the service and while leaving, and do not socially interact with people whilst on church property.
  • Read the notices at the north door and follow instructions from the steward on duty.  If you have not already booked in, if there is space, a steward will take your name and contact details.  This information will be kept for 3 weeks only to enable contact tracing should that be necessary.
  • Please use the hand sanitiser provided on entering and leaving.
  • Please do not touch anything unless it is necessary.
  • A steward will indicate where you may sit. Households may sit together. Please note alternate pews are closed and service leaflets in the pews mark where you may sit.  Please go direct to your seat and do not enter other areas (e.g. the chancel and sanctuary).
  • Please take a service leaflet for your own use only, write your name on it, take it with you when you leave, and bring it to use next time you come to a similar service.  If you can, bring your own bible and, if preferred, your own Prayer Book for BCP Communion.
  • There will be no singing by the congregation in the services and you are asked not to raise your voice when speaking.  There will be music and singing, either live or recorded, in some services but please do not sing along with it.
  • For Holy Communion, only wafers will be distributed. This will be at the west end, near the water cooler. Stewards will direct you. Please approach from the centre aisle and return to your pew via the font, maintaining 2m distancing at all times. The priest will drop the wafer into your hands, no words will be spoken. Please move away from the priest before consuming.
